Summary

Sports physio treatment has never been more expensive and inaccessible. Over the course of Covid, and my last year of university I founded an app that diagnoses injuries with the same level of accuracy as a physiotherapist does.

Problem

Access to effective sports recovery support isn’t equal.

In the UK, individuals often face two extremes: paying high costs for private physiotherapy or enduring long NHS wait times, delaying recovery and preventing many from returning to the sports they love. This gap leaves everyday athletes without timely, affordable recovery when they need it most.

Design solution

In collaboration with doctors and physiotherapists, I designed a dynamic AI-powered app that mirrors the way a physio's naturally diagnoses injuries. The system adapts to each user's responses to hypothesise the injury and then delivers a personalised recovery plan.

In collaboration with medical professionals, we developed a conversational decision tree. I designed the interface to mirror natural dialogue, optimising the flow of the system.

By factoring in injury severity, type, and user data, we generate a customised recovery plan. The approach provides flexibility while supporting a structured path to recovery.
